SRIW presents “GDPR’s 5th Anniversary Resumée – A practical resumée from a co-regulatory perspective, reflecting Codes of Conduct and Monitoring Bodies in particular”

SRIWNews

The entry into force of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2018 has significantly impacted the whole data protection environment. After five years of grappling with implementation challenges and obstacles, some progress has been made, but there are still hurdles to overcome. As the EU Commission will present an evaluation report in 2024, it is crucial to reflect on the lessons learned and work towards improving data protection implementation through constructive dialogue.

The SRIW and its membership have notably contributed to the implementation of GDPR’s requirements through the introduction of self- and co-regulatory initiatives. These initiatives provided guidance to industry stakehoders on how to comply with the requirements, but also took into account data subjects’ interests and engaged in constructive discussions with policymakers.

On this backdrop, the SRIW has compiled its experiences, especially in developing, implementing and monitoring codes of conduct and is more than pleased to share with you “GDPR’s 5th Anniversary Resumée – A practical resumée from a co-regulatory perspective, reflecting Codes of Conduct and Monitoring Bodies in particular”.
